Minty - Emil Voos Pattern Etched Blade - Model 1935 Heer Dolch. This etch was a special order, privately purchased by a well-heeled officer. The Emil Voos pattern etched blade on this one is wonderful. The frosted etch is crisp, correctly displaying the Heer eagle flanked by laurel leaf and berry sprigs and a decorative intertwined floral motif. It is unmarked which is common. The plated surface looks great. The blade on this one rates NM. It has some scratches throughout and only minor age. The dark brown pebbled leather buffer pad remains intact. The sheet metal based nickel-silver plated scabbard is gorgeous with wonderful silvered age patina. It provides great detail with the random pebbling throughout and crisp acorn bands. It remains completely dent free and the original throat retaining screw continues to remain intact. The generic heavily nickel-silver plated generic crossguard provides beautiful crisp detail. The ferrule and pommel are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The deep orange trylon grip on this one is chip and crack-free. It features generic fittings which is textbook / the most common feature for these etched examples. Beautiful matching silver patina. A rare and gorgeous example.
