Hitler Youth Knife by RZM M7/3
A Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by RZM M7/3 – Kuno Ritter of Solingen. Based on construction this piece can be dated to c.1939. The thick ricassoed blade on this one has been cleaned. The stamped “RZM M7/3” maker mark is nicely executed. The tip comes to a sharp point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates Exc+. It has been heavily cleaned with chemicals and it has been ever-so-slightly sharpened. The black sealed leather buffer pad remains intact. The sheet metal based black enamel painted and repainted scabbard is in great condition. It remains completely dent-free. It has two runners. The belt strap portion of the leather scabbard has been replaced in the period. The “SHB” marked snap continues to work well. The iron based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 95%+ of its plating. The grip plates are black checkered bakelite and look great. Both solid steel rivets remain tightly secured. The large HJ diamond retains 95%+ of its enamel. Some age toning to the top. Purchased form the son of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) veteran that brought it back.
