Reichsnährstand - Goat Breeding Services Merit Medal
A Reichsnährstand Verdienstmedaille für Leistungen in der Ziegenzucht. Awarded by the Reichsnährstand for their services/achievements in the processing of Goat Breeding. It is constructed out of a die struck bronze base that has been bronze washed. The round shaped obverse features the Imperial ministry of food and agriculture emblem, which displays an eagle with outstretched wings perched on a pedestal, above “Blut und Boden” and above an encircled mobile swastika that is behind a broad sword and wheat sheaf, that is flanked by two downward pointing oak leaves. The emblem is underneath an arched: “Reichsnährstand” and is all surrounded by “Landesbauernschaft Rheinland, Hauptabteilung II”. The reverse reads “Für Leistungen in der Ziegenzucht” above a star which is all surrounded by an oak leaf, grape, rose and wheat wreath that is tied together at the top and open at the bottom. To the top is a soldered-on loop and ring which holds 3 inches of yellow rayon ribbon. The original ribbon may be a replacement. It measures 1 9/16 inches in diameter. A multitude of variations to collect.
