M1937 Fliegerdolch by J. A. Henckels of Solingen. The blade on this one looks excellent. The stamped Zwilingswerk twins “J. A. Henckels Solingen” maker mark is crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain looks great in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade on this one rates Exc++/NM. There is some age grey and spotting mostly concentrated towards the tip. The dark brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel-based plated scabbard looks great. It depicts nice details throughout the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The edges show minor plating loss. The bands look wonderful with detailed hand enhancing to the edges. The single side throat retaining screws remain intact. The burnished aluminum Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has beautiful details to the chest, wings and top side etched oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule and pommel look excellent as well. The swas holds some nice original gilding. The two tones orange/yellow trylon grip looks wonderful. The springy aluminum wire wrap remains tightly intact. A highly sought after maker mark!
