M1937 Fliegerdolch by Carl Julius Krebs of Solingen. The bright plated blade on this one looks good. The acid etched crowned K encircled by “Carl Jul. Krebs Solingen” maker mark is crisp and beautifully executed. The plating gives it an excellent mirror like finish. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade on this one rates Exc++. There are minor scratch marks, the odd nick to the edges and some age greying throughout. The brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel-based airplane grey plated scabbard looks great. It depicts nice details throughout the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The bands look wonderful with detailed hand enhancing to the edges. The single throat retaining screws remain intact. The burnished Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has beautiful details to the chest, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule and pommel look good as well. The orange trylon grip looks excellent. There is a wee chip to the top reverse along with the common scuffs throughout. The springy aluminum wire wrap remains tightly intact. Overall, a fine example by a rarer maker.
