Japanese Samurai Sword - Sekishu Sadatsuna

Japan, Nanboku-chō period (c.1336-1392) – Japanese Samurai Sword Sekishu Sadatsuna – Rated: Jo-Jo Saku NBTHK Hozon. Sekishu Sadatsuna is the youngest son of the first generation Naotsuna who is reported to be one of the famous ten students of Masmune. The time period for Sadatsuna is 1355-1390. It is O-Suriage and maintains much of its original grandeur displaying fine Itame with attached Ji-Nie forming abundant Chikei and Utsuri. The blade also is Nie Deki with beautifully formed Choji Midare and Gunome Midare. There is Sunagashi and fine Kinsuji in the Ha. The workmanship is of a very high standard and a possible Juyo candidate. The Hadaraki is exceptional. The Boshi is Midarekomi and Yakizume in style all together, a remarkable work of art. The Koshirae is in remarkable fine shape and is also a Juyo candidate in my opinion, a very fine work of art, the Kodzuka is outstanding cloisonne´ workmanship and very rare. All told, a rare combination. I highly recommend this fine sword. Length: 69.4. Weight: 835 grams. Stock Nr.: #245-56
