Distributor Marked - Model 1935, 3rd Pattern Heer Dolch für und Führer by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The blade on this one looks wonderful. The acid etched “Militärwarenhaus Dürbeck Wien IX” distributor mark and seated squirrel holding a broad sword “Original Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain looks great, running the full length of the blade. The fit is perfect as is the tip. The blade rates Exc++/NM. Someone has cleaned it leaving some slanted faint grain scratches It also shows minor spotting and one nick to the edge. The original brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based, nickel-silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and oak leaf and acorn bands. There is one bruise to the very bottom. The original throat retaining screw continues to remain intact. The zinc-alloy based nickel-silver plated 3rd pattern Eickhorn crossguard provides beautiful crisp detail. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The orange trylon based grip on this one is looks great. There are minor spots throughout. This one comes with a nice correctly tied Army portepee. A great example.
