Japan, Momoyama / Mid-Edo Period (c.1700 A.D.) - Tsuba (鍔) Tetsu (鉄) - Iron Plate Sword Guard by Nobufusa saku (信房作) - Bushu School Artist. This sword guard is made of forged iron. It has a picturesque embossed and carved motif, on a standard vertically elongated round shape (nagamaru-gata), with a polished surface (migaki-ji) and an irregular rim (mimi). It is signed Nobufusa saku (信房作) to the seppa-dai. There are two hitsu-ana holes. Size: 63.74mm x 68.30mm, 5mm thick, 94g. For use on long sword. Box and pillow. Stock Nr. #55.
