Tagged – German Wine Route Tourist Pin
Die Deutsche Weinstrasse Abzeichen by F. Mannheim of Kaiserslautern – c.1935. Constructed out of a die stamped bronze base that has been bronze washed and chemically burnished. The round shaped obverse features the German Wine Gate surrounded by “Die Deutsche Weinstrasse” with a bunch of grapes and leaves to the bottom. The hollow back reverse retains its original glued on maker tag reading: “F. Mannheim Kaiserslautern” and has a soldered-on tombak well working pin assembly. It measures 1 ½ inches in diameter. A great bit of history here: Deutsche Weinstraße.
