2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger by Clemen & Jung
A M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch) by Clemen & Jung of Solingen. The blade on this one has some smudges and minor age. The maker mark is stamped to the reverse in block letters by also their logo under the swas. easy to miss if you don't know what to look for. The blade on this one rates a Exc+. The original pebbled leather buffer pad remains intact. The generic steel based airplane grey plated scabbard has lost much of its' finish. It depicts good details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns and the aluminum hand enhanced bands. It remains completely dent free. The two throat retaining screws remain intact and unturned. The burnished aluminum Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has beautifully hand chased details to its head, feathers & wings. There are minor dirt spots throughout. The steel ferrule and aluminum pommel both look great. The celluloid covered grip has a rub to the reverse. The wire wrap is unique to C&J. I've seen this before but never on any other maker. A rare Luftwaffe dagger.
