M1937 Fliegerdolch by Hack-Werk of Solingen. As one would expect a smaller maker like this would have purchased it's components from the bigger guys. The bright plated blade on this one looks good. The small stamped maker mark is crisp and beautifully executed. The plating gives it an excellent mirror like finish. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade on this one rates NM. There are a few wee dots where the plating is lifting. The brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The generic steel-based airplane grey plated scabbard shows lots of wear. It depicts nice details throughout the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The generic bands look good. The two headless throat retaining screws remain intact. The burnished Luftwaffe eagle crossguard has beautiful details to the chest, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule and matching aluminum pommel look good as well. The deep orange chip and crack-free trylon grip looks excellent toning one shade darker to the obverse. The fine double twist brass wire wrap remains tightly intact. Overall, a fine example by a rarely seen maker.
