Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse ohne Schwerter in Verleihungstüte. The War Merit Cross 2nd Class without Swords was given to civilians who performed meritorious service behind the lines. It is constructed out of a die struck bronze base that has been bronze washed. The obverse depicts a pebbled Maltese style cross and a wreathed mobile swastika / “1939” (reverse) to the center. To the top is a soldered-on loop and unmarked ring which holds 9 inches of black, white and red rayon ribbon. The award measures 1 7/8 inches square. The award comes with its issue paper packet. The packet reads, in black gothic style ink: “Kriegs-verdienstkreuz 2. Klasse”. The reverse maker mark is "Rudolf Tam Gablonz". It shows wear throughout. It measures 4 inches wide by 5 1/8 inches tall.
