Here we have an Army (Heer) Officers Brocade Belt and Buckle (Koppelschloß), that was introduced in 1937. The buckle is constructed out of a die stamped aluminum-alloy base that has been silver washed. The round shaped obverse features a Heer closed winged eagle above a rough/textured round backing that is surrounded by an oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the bottom and has a thin smooth border. It measures approximately 2 inches in diameter. The buckle is attached to a quality ribbed, woven bright silver/aluminum and green rayon construction brocade belt. The exterior of the 39" belt has two horizontal green lines surrounded by silver flatwire/aluminum thread with chain link stitching to the top and bottom. It also has two vertical adjustment slides, in the same construction. The interior is lined in a green wool that has mothing and has a stitched on brown leather tongue marked "104", (cm). Included is a catch that is a replacement, I found. It does NOT exactly match the set but works. The buckle shows patina and wonderfully detailed throughout the eagles wings, head and wreath. The belt is in good but worn condition! A nice example.
