Rural Shako by Erel

Here we have a nice example of a 1936 pattern Rural Shako by Erel of Berlin. It is constructed out of a rigid black vulcan-fiber body with a green wool covering. The obverse features the correct silvered aluminum cap eagle and cockade. The cockade has about 90% of its original paint still intact. The cap eagle holds both of its aluminum male screw pieces, washers and nuts. The removable cockade is marked, "S.R.M. 1938". The body shows no wear and I see no mothing. there is a small stain to the reverse. The top piece and front/back brown visors show the most minor age and retain all their stitching. The chin strap looks great with no damage. The interior looks great. A replacement leather draw string remains. The top is maker marked. It's ink stamped size "58 1/2". Overall it's a fine piece
