A M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch) sold by "Esser & Co. of Koln at Krersgasse 20". The bright blade on this one looks great! The stamped distribution mark is crisp and beautifully executed! It has a perfect tip and perfect fit. The blade on this one rates Mint with no need for excuses. The blue pebbled leather buffer pad remains intact. The generic steel based "airplane grey" plated scabbard looks good with 99% plating remaining. It depicts good details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. It remains completely dent free and retains the throat retaining screws. It has nicely aged and patinaed with time. The zinc based eagle crossguard, steel ferrule and zinc pommel all look good! The eagle has good detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak the grip is a rare galalith example used for a short while as manufacturers sought a replacement material for trylon. they later abandoned galalith for celluloid. there is a small chip to the upper reverse. The brass double twist wire wrap remains tightly intact. A rare distributor mark.
