Damascus - 2nd Luftwaffe Dagger by Tiger
A M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch) by Tiger of Solingen. Likely the most desirable maker of damascus in beautiful shape! Blade is a Exc++ example having some wear and evidence of cleaning. It is correctly marked with the large sideways Tiger trademark to the reverse. Above that it is correctly stamped with the "P+D", Paul Dinger. The blade is seated through it's original leather washer into a nice generic style crossguard. The generic pommel is quite correct. All the fittings are in fine shape. Scabbard is a mid-period steel example with an airplane grey finish. Throat is retained by a single reverse headless screw. All the patina and fittings match in age and finish! The original trylon grip is a nice crack and chip-free example with original springy style wire wrap. A winner that will be a treat for someone's collection. What else could you ask for?
