Kreigsmarine Protective Leather Jacket & Trousers

Three-quarter length, multi-panel, gray leather construction jacket features a vertical, five button, front closure with a single metal hook and eye positioned at the forward neckline and a small, stand-up, collar. The left breast of the jacket has a horizontal slash, pocket with a straight edged, overlapping flap. The jacket also has two, horizontal slash, forward hip pockets also with straight edged, overlapping flaps. The reverse of the jacket has a central, vertical, seam with no tail skirt vent. The interior of the jacket is fully lined in heavy, grey, wool with a "pajama" patterned rayon lining to the sleeves. The interior right breast has a leather reinforced, horizontal slash, pocket. Nice KM buttons with original stitching. Size as marked, 52. The Jacket is dated 6/43 and manufactured by "Hela" Kleiderfabrik, Kiel".

  • Multi-panel, gray leather construction straight legged, long pants feature a three button French fly with an additional metal hook and eye positioned on the horizontal waistband. Typical, "V" slash to the reverse center and the original suspender attachment buttons are intact. The pants have two, vertical, side seam, slash, front pockets with ornamental, scalloped reinforcement stitching. The reverse of the pants have a horizontal, fit adjustment strap with the adjustment buckle. The pants have straight cut, dual-ply, non-adjustable cuffs. The interior of the pants are fully lined in light weight grey cotton/rayon. The buttons are the molded black bakelite type and have their original stitching. The interior manufacture tag is removed, seen this often as the owner often had their name here do not want to be remembered. I'm guessing this is size 52 matching the jacket. The protective leather uniforms were intended to fit over the standard service uniform and were cut large as result. The pants are roughly size 34" waist with a 31" inseam.
