Luftwaffen Schwert by F.A. Helbog of Steinbach K.R.M. These later aluminum examples utilized the new material, (aluminum) that the Luftwaffe designed all their airplanes with. This is a nice and affordable example. The scabbard retains its factory Moroccan blue leather perfectly matching the grip. The leather has been touched up ith show polish hiding several scuffs. The plated 28" blade is Exc+ with some age and grey the worse of which is towards the hilt. The reverse is inspection stamped above the maker marked blade. The buffer remains intact. The grip is double wrapped with 2 springy wires. The bottom 1" is broke off and securely tucked under he remaining wire. Some show polish is on some wire. The original leather remains intact to the grip. It has a few pressure marks. There is a dent to the scabbard surface 8" up from the lower fitting. You can find it w your fingers. Not serious at all but thought I should mention it. The fitting are correctly retained with headless screws. The hanger has lost it's top fitting and the two sides have been stapled back into place.
