Here we have a beautiful Model 1935 Army Dagger (Heer Dolch) by E. & F. Horster! The blade on this one is excellent! A unique feature of this manufacture is that they marked the underside of their 4th pattern pommel and crossguard with their H-and-sword manufactures mark. A unique and desirable trait! The acid etched "E. & F. Horster Solingen" maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is stunning and runs the full length. The fit is perfect and it has a perfect tip. The blade rates NM. There is just a bit of age about the maker mark. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based, nickel-silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! It remains completely dent free and the original throat retaining screw continues to remain intact. There is a bit of age and some plating loss to the upper scabbard band. The zinc-alloy based, nickel-silver plated crossguard provides beautiful crisp detail! Check out that chest very cool! The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The celluloid over plaster grip on this one is wonderful! Finally comes with it's original portepee with some frays but nicely displays from the front. A nice example with tons of factory lacquer!
