A M1937 Fliegerdolch by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. A textbook configuration Eickhorn Luftwaffe Dagger. The blade looks excellent. The black etched, “Original Eickhorn Solingen” squirrel maker mark is beautifully executed. The plated finish is stunning in the light. The blade is inspection marked to the obverse. Never seen this before but 100% correct. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade on this one rates in at Exc++/MN with just a few dots of age. The leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is steel based and "airplane gray" finished. It remains completely dent free. It depicts nice detail throughout with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. There is minor age to the leading edge. The aluminum based crossguard has nice detail with burnish to the backgrounds. Some gilt remains to the Swas's! The steel ferrule and burnished aluminum pommel both look excellent. The trylon grip is minty and the springy aluminum wire wrap remains tightly intact. A great example of an Eickhorn 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger. About as good as it gets.
