The blade looks excellent. The black etched, “Original Eickhorn Solingen” squirrel maker mark is beautifully executed. The the obverse is a distribtor mark, "Militar Warenhaus Durbeck Wien IX" The crossgrain is stunning in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade on this one rates in at Exc++ with just a few dots of age. The leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is steel based and plated. It has a golden hue. It remains completely dent free and both screws remain. It depicts nice detail throughout with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The generic crossguard (non-textbook for Eickhorn General's Dagger) has nice detail. All the burnish to the backgrounds on the fittings match. The eagles head, feathers, wings and top side hand enhanced oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule has a nice golden hue. The burnished aluminum pommel both look excellent with much gilt remaining to the swas's. The trylon grip has minor wear and the springy aluminum wire wrap remains tightly intact. A great example of an Eickhorn 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger.
