Stamped, sheet steel construction helmet retains a good portion of its repainted surface while showing wear and field usage. Eagle decal is about 92% complete. The national shield has been painted over in accordance with the revised regulations. Some call this paint scheme "Flak helpers helmet". All three liner retaining rivets and both inserted ventilation bushings are all intact. The interior of the helmet has a dark tan, M31 leather liner with all seven of eight of its fingers intact. One is ripped off and still on the string, Three fingers at torn at the drawstring hole. Liner isn't ink stamped that I can find. Original size adjustment string is present. The interior reverse neck guard apron is lot number stamped, "5838", and the interior left side apron is stamped with the manufacturers code and size, "NS68" indicating manufacture by Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke, AG. Schwerte, size 68. The helmet is nicely named "Oblt. Thiemann". Original chin strap is present and marked.
