A wonderful awarded and worn cross. This history this piece must have seen. Iron core, silver frame stamped “800” on reverse top arm; measuring approximately 48.67 mm x 48.91mm, weighing approximately 30.1g; suspension ring stamped "800" and “65’; Per Dietrich Maerz, "The body of the cross exhibits signs of two layers of paint. This is not the case on the swastika and on the numerals. However, on some spots of the obverse and reverse it is visible. It is impossible to determine when this was done, but at least one can state that it was done a long time ago."; complete with length of original ribbon: textbook example with all the features of Klein & Quenzer.
