Here we have a combat worn example of a M16 Helmet. The shell is constructed out of a stamped piece of steel sheet metal that has been period green painted. The shell has a folded over edge, two separately applied air vents and three split rivets. The interior has three pads with all fingers that are supple attached to a steel band. The exterior continues to retain 90%+ of its original paint! The helmet is maker marked and sized "ET62" Eisenhuettenwerke Thale A.G. The chinstrap looks to be a modern replacement. There are some inks tamps to the reverse. A great piece!
