E. Pack 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger

M1937 Fliegerdolch by E. Pack of Solingen. The blade on this one looks great! The "E. Pack & Sohne Solingen" maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! It has a perfect tip and nice fit. There are some fine age spots. The blade on this one rates a Exc+. The grip was rotating around on this so I removed the pommel. I found that the tang has been replaced and welded on. They restorer did not add shoulders on the tang hence the reason for the rotation. I shoved some wood in there to resolver the rotation issue but wanted to be sure to share this with you. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The scabbard is not the one we usually associate with Pack. It retains good plating, with minor wear. It remains completely dent free and the throat retaining screws remain intact! The aluminum eagle crossguard, steel ferrule and pommel all look awesome! The pommel nicely matches the crossguard aluminum. The early trylon grip has aged to a warm orange over time. The chip and crack-free grip is in good shape with a few rubs and wear. The springy wire wrap remains tightly intact.
