A Very Rare - Transitional Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by H. & F. Lauterjung of Solingen - RZM M7/6 of Solingen. This is only the third transitional dagger I’ve seen by this maker. The blade on this one is a looks wonderful. The acid etched “Alles fur Deutschland” motto and “RZM M7/6 H. & F. Lauterjung Solingen" maker mark are both dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The crossgrain is wonderful and easily visible as you shine it in the light. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates an easy NM/Mint-. It shows the typical runner marks and a few wee age spots. The sheet metal based brown enamel painted scabbard looks excellent. It shows minor scratches throughout. It remains completely dent free and continues to hold 99% of its original painted finish. There is some age spidering. The steel based nickel-silver plated scabbard fittings looks excellent. The ball is has taken a hit but not too bad. All four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap. The zinc based nickel-silver plated crossguards are very nice. the only lifting I find is to the reverse upper crossguard fit. The brown hardwood grip has nice grain. There is a wee flake to the lower obverse left corner. No cracks. The zinc eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel also has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. Really a very nice example!
