A Model 1936 Chained – Nationalsozialistisches Kraftfahrkorps Dienstdolch für Führer by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen 1940. The transitional RZM M7/66 (Carl Eickhorn) maker mark and "Alles fur Deutschland" motto are both nicely executed, with some wear to the high spine. There is minor age throughout. Tons of crossgrain remains. The scabbard is a nice one with 98% of its original paint still intact with some crazing. The plated steel scabbard fittings have been lightly cleaned. The ball is perfectly round and all five screws retain their original patina. The plated chain has seen lots of period wear. The guy wore the plating off much of the reverse and some of the obverse. For those of you who like to follow me against the textbooks, indeed the correct link is stamped "NSKK Korpsfuhrung Musterschutz". The link holes are the correct horseshoe shape and the snap functions well! The scabbard / crossguard fit is good and closes with a snap. The crossguards retain good plating with some minor lifting. The hardwood grip displays excellent grain. It has a few pressure marks and a wee flake to the upper obverse left corner. The aluminium eagle is perfectly fit. The roundel retains 99% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit. Nice dagger never been in a collection. Purchased from Vet's relative.
