A M1937 Fliegerdolch by Voos. The blade on this one looks excellent. The stamped tiger “Emil Voos Solingen” maker mark is stamped, (a bit crooked) next to their traditional snake wrapped around a stump. The plated blade is stunning as you turn it in the sun. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. There is a bit of wear and wee scratches, the blade rates NM. The pebbled leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The generic scabbard is steel based and plated. It shows lots of period wear and loss of finish but no dents. There is a bit of oxidation. The headless throat retaining screws remain intact. The aluminum crossguard looks excellent with nicely detailed burnished backgrounds. The eagles head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns are all chemically darkened. The steel ferrule and matching aluminum burnished pommel both look excellent. The trylon grip is a treat. Look at the wire they employed. It's two double twist wires that have been double twisted!! We do see some cool stuff some days! It has the odd rub but no cracks or chips. A great piece by a desirable maker.
