M40 Army Helmet by Q68

Here we have a combat worn example of an original M40 Army Helmet. The shell is constructed out of a stamped piece of steel sheet metal that has been green textured painted. The shell has a folded over edge, embossed air vents and three split rivets. The interior has a steel liner with two square rings. The interior liner is made of tan brown leather and is also ink stamped with the size that I can't make out. It remains intact with its original draw string and chin strap all fingers are intact. It has wear. The steel buckle continues to work well. The helmet is serial marked to the back and is also maker marked and sized "Q68". The exterior is in excellent shape showing period wear. The Heer decal looks to be period removed as per regulations. A fine example that has never been in a collection fresh from the family!
