Early Army Dagger by WKC

An early, heavy, slant grip, tapered tang, textbook Model 1935 - Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by WKC (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie.) of Solingen. The blade on this one has some age towards the tip. There is lots of crossgrain remaning. The acid etched Knights Head “WKC Solingen” maker mark is perfectly executed! The fit is nice and tight! The large leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! The scabbard remains dent free. There is a bit of stain just below the lower scabbard ring to the obverse. Looks like perhaps something was stored on it at some point leaving this witness mark. The original throat retaining screws remain intact. The brass based silver plated WKC eagle crossguard provides beautiful details throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns throughout. All matching hand enhanced fittings! The early desirable slant orange trylon grip is perfect. A heavy early example.
