Early 1st Model Luft by Horster

1st Model (1934/35) Airforce Dagger (Luftwaffe Fliegerdolch). This in my mind is a very desirable 1st Luft. You can have those shiny aluminum daggers and give me and early ones every day of the week! Here's exactly what I'm talkin' about right here. The plated blade on this one looks good! The early double oval "Horster Solingen" etched maker mark is nicely executed just above the inspection mark. It has some age but a a good finish to it with along with a solid fit and perfect tip! It rates an Exc++. Just minor in/out marks. It retains its original blue pebbled buffer pad. The early blue, pebbled leather covered scabbard looks excellent! About 99% leather coverage remains intact, with a perfect seam! The steel fittings show some age but no oxidation. The solid nickel chain is in excellent condition. It has 9 upper ringlets and 14 lower, ending at a well working solid nickel clip! The solid nickel hilt looks great! All four separately inserted brass sun wheel swastikas are beautiful! See how all all the silver plating remains between the swas's "legs"? So nice and rare to see. 75% of these I see anymore have all that silver polished off. The wood based, blue leather grip has aged quite nicely. It retains its perfect nickel triple wire wrap. Nice dagger here.
