A M1937 Fliegerdolch by Tiger of Solingen. The blade on this one has a bit of age smudges and a couple rough spots to the cutting edge. The stamped tiger “Tiger Solingen” maker mark is crisp and beautifully executed. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates Exc+. The pebbled leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is steel based and airplane gray finished. It is in excellent condition with no dents or oxidization. It depicts beautiful detail throughout with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The throat retaining screw remains intact. The crossguard looks excellent with nicely detailed burnished backgrounds. The eagles head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns are all chemically darkened. The steel ferrule and burnished pommel both look excellent. The gilding to the swastika is a nice treat on this one! It has thinned a bit and remains mostly intact. The celluloid over plaster grip has no chips or cracks. The double twist wire wrap is a bit loose. included is a postepee that is worn. A great piece by a desirable maker.
