A M1937 Fliegerdolch by Puma of Solingen. Here we have a M1937 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger (Fliegerdolch) by Puma (Pumawerk Lauterjung & Sohn) of Solingen. The blade has been cleaned. The stamped “Puma Solingen” maker mark is light. The crossgrain is cleaned off. The tip comes to a perfect point. The blade on this one rates in at Exc+. The blue pebbled leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is steel based and airplane gray plated. It remains completely dent free. Both throat retaining screws remain intact. It depicts nice detail throughout with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The scabbard shows lots of period wear and most of the plating is worn off. The aluminum-alloy based eagle crossguard has nice detail to the eagles head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The steel ferrule and chemically darkened aluminum-alloy pommel both look excellent. The orange trylon grip has a chip that is being held in place with the springy aluminum grip-wire, (see pics). It has gorgeous age toning being one tone darker to the obverse.
