A M1937 Fliegerdolch by Gottfried Weyersberg & Soehne of Solingen. Who? you ask. Yes a very rare maker here. The Weyersberg family were very big in Solingen with many of the son's started their own firms. Gottfried was no exception. A beautiful 2nd Model Luftwaffe! The factory polished blade on this one looks good! It has a beautifully stamped "G. Weyersberg SNE Solingen" maker mark! It has a perfect tip and perfect fit. The blade on this one has some minor scratches It rates a solid NM. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The dark dent-free plated scabbard looks good. It has wear and some bumps and depicts good details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The two throat retaining screws remain intact! The burnished aluminum eagle crossguard exhibits some age darkening I have not tried to clean. The steel ferrule and aluminum pommel all look awesome! The early chip and crack-free trylon grip has aged to a deep orange over time. The wire wrap remains tightly intact. There is a bit of a wiggle here 1/4 a turn of the pommel and it's gone. I do not want to over tighten this so I will leave it as is. You will never find another by this maker for sale.
