A Model 1935 Heer Dolch by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched “Original Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. Peek under the swas. and you find stamped: "H. MUTZ LINGEN". This is the distributor that originally supplied this dagger along with their location. The fine crossgrain looks excellent as you turn it in the sun. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates Exc++ with a couple age stains. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based nickel-silver plated scabbard is gorgeous with wonderful age patina. It provides great detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands. It remains completely dent free and the original throat retaining screw continues to remain intact. Just a few small marks from honest wear. The rarely seen nickel-silver plated 2nd pattern Eickhorn crossguard provides crisp detail. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The deep orange trylon grip on this one is flawless no chips or cracks. Nice portepee. Completely patching patina throughout. A nice example.
