A Model 1935 Heer Dolch by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. The blade on this one looks great. The acid etched squirrel “Original Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. Peek under the swas. and you find stamped: "W&L Schebben Uniformen Aachen". This is the distributor that originally supplied this dagger along with their location. The crossgrain looks excellent as you turn it in the sun. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates NM. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based nickel-silver plated scabbard is gorgeous with wonderful age patina. It provides great detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands. It remains completely dent free and the original throat retaining screw continues to remain intact. The generic crossguard is one that Eickhorn used occasionaly, (see Witty's Army dagger reference) provides crisp detail. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The deep orange trylon grip on this one shows a wee hairline, (3mm) to the reverse pommel fit. It is one tone darker to the obverse. Completely patching patina throughout. A nice example.
