2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger by Tiger
A M1937 Fliegerdolch by Tiger of Solingen. The blade on this one has been repaired. Someone looks to have welded it 2" south of the crossguard. See pics. The stamped tiger “Tiger Solingen” maker mark remains but the tiger itself is missing. Some crossgrain remains. The fit is good and the tip comes to a perfect point. The blade rates VG. It has some age spotting throughout and the typical surface scratches. The brown leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is steel based and airplane gray finished. It has some oxidation. It depicts good detail throughout with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. Both throat retaining screws remain intact. The aluminum based crossguard looks excellent with nicely detailed burnished backgrounds. The eagles head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns are all beautiful. The steel ferrule and burnished aluminum pommel both look excellent. Some gilding to the swastika remains. The white celluloid over plaster grip is in excellent condition. It has darkened a bit yet no cracks or chips. The dual twisted brass wire wrap remains tightly intact.
