This is a lot of five fine, complete, World War II German aviation photo magazines called Der deutsche Sportflieger (The German Sport Flyer). They are the issues for June & July 1940, March, April & August 1941 with a total of 120 heavily illustrated pages each. The 9 x 12-1/8 inch magazine started publication in 1933 for aviation enthusiasts and sport flyers, but content evolved with more technical information and aviation research, stressing civil to military aviation and these five excellent World War II issues of Der deutsche Sportflieger have a lot of content related to World War II, the Nazi Luftwaffe and their role in the war. Promotions, deaths of well-known and lesser-known Luftwaffe Aces were announced and Nazi pilots receiving the Knight’s Cross were featured. The Battle of Britain was heavily in the news at the time. This is also packed with period Aviation theme advertising. These are complete and in excellent condition with all pgs present. Maybe a dog ear but they seem complete in everyway.
