A Model 1935 Heer Dolch by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen. This one is also distributor marked "A. Kuhl of Munster-Essen" to the obverse. The blade on this one has a slight bend toward the tip I have taken pains to show you. I know, it sounds bad, it's not. The acid etched, “Original Eickhorn Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed. The fine crossgrain looks excellent as you turn it in the sun. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates Exc+ with some dots of age to the lower obverse. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based nickel-silver plated scabbard is gorgeous with wonderful age patina. It provides great detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands. It has several wee hits to the lower quarter. The original throat retaining screw continues to remain intact. The rarely seen nickel-silver plated 2nd pattern Eickhorn crossguard provides crisp detail. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The deep orange trylon grip on this one has no chips or cracks. It shows age patina to the crevasses. Completely patching patina throughout. Nice to find these distributor marked.
