M1937 Fliegerdolch für Offiziere sold by Uniform Distributor Zeitler pf Wien. Here's a nice example of what is a rare Distributor marked dagger. These distributors purchased unmarked daggers then put their own names on them. This one looks like it was manufactured from generic components. The blade on this example has some stains but not too bad. Lots of crossgrain remains. The tip is perfect and the stamped distributor mark and location is nicely executed. People have asked why some distributors have many variations on their trademark. It is my opinion that Zeitler chose to have the dagger manufacturer execute the distributor mark so different makers marked them slightly different. The blade rates Exc+. The dent-free scabbard is in good shape with some minor wear. both side screws are intact and unturned. The crossguard and pommel are beautifully detailed and in great condition. The grip and crossguard are loose and I tried to give the pommel a turn to snug these up but the pommel is frozen and I do not want to force it. The white celluloid over plaster grip has a few stains and rubs leaving small scars. No cracks or chips. The double-twist wire is intact. Included is a nice portepee and a worn but serviceable set of Assmann hangers.
