Canada - Named U.S. Bronze Star 5pc Medal Group
Canada, WWII - First Canadian Army, RCEME, Captain Sidney L. Erwin was awarded the United States Bronze Star on March 30, 1946, for his distinguished services of an outstanding nature in the Northwest European campaign, approved by the King. The Cased Bronze Star is engraved “Sidney L. Erwin” to the reverse. Included is: The 1939-45 Star, The Defense Medal, The Canadian Volunteer Service Medal (missing overseas clasp) and The War Medal 1939-1945. Erwin was also “Mentioned In Dispatches” (October 3, 1945), which was approved by the King, meaning he was awarded the bronze star twice. Erwin is in the Canadian Medal Roll, Item Numbers: 56909 and 56910.
