A Luftwaffe Koppelschloß by Richard Sieper & Sohne of Lüdenscheid. The buckle is constructed out of an injection molded aluminum alloy base that has been silver washed and burnished. The obverse features a centrally placed 2nd pattern Luftwaffe open winged eagle clutching a swastika in one of its talons, on top of an oval pebbled background, that is all encircled by a laurel leaf and berry wreath that is tied together at the bottom and all lies on a pebbled rectangular backing. The reverse displays an integral catch and an aluminum pin/post sleeve assembly. The obverse shows wear to the high points. It is marked "R.S.&S.". It measures 2 7/16 inch wide by 1 7/8 inches high. A nice piece!
