M1895 Chilean Knife Bayonet by WKC
This bayonet was designed to fit the 1895 Mauser Infantry Rifle. It was manufactured in Germany under contract. The 10 inch long, single fuller straight blade on this one looks great. It is marked to the reverse “Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co Solingen, (WKC)”. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates NM. It shows a bit of cosmoline residue which is a quick clean. The dent-free steel based and black anodized scabbard has the most minor of wear with a few wee hits. 99% of the blued finish remains. The throat retaining rivets remain intact. The hilt is nickel-silver plated. The button continues to work well. The chip and crack-free wood grip plates show the common pressure marks. They continue to be tightly secured by two rivets. The bayonet is serialized matching the scabbard.
