A “High-Lift” - Model 1935 Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by Alcoso – Alexander Coppel of Solingen. The acid etched “AWS Alcoso Solingen” maker mark is nicely executed. The tip is perfect but the blade suffers age gray, cleaning and nicks to the cutting edge. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based and nickel-silver plated scabbard is in excellent condition! It provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling and hand enhanced oak leaves and acorn bands. It also remains completely dent free. This is a late war scabbard that has a screwless "slip fit" throat. The alloy based plated unique Alcoso “High-Lift” eagle crossguard shows age and plating loss. The unique Alcoso pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with nicely burnish backgrounds and proud oak leaves and acorns! Look how all the patina matches, Gotta Love it! The white grip looks excellent with a wee hairline near the ferule.
