A M1937 Fliegerdolch. The unmarked plated blade on this one looks good! It has a perfect tip and solid fit. There The blade on this one rates a NM. It has some small runner marks and the most minor of age holding this back from being stone mint. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The whole exterior has nicely patinaed. The steel based, nickel plated scabbard lhas a dent one inch up from the end. It depicts good details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. Both headless throat retaining screws remain intact! The aluminum eagle crossguard has nice detail to its head, feathers, wings and top side oak leaves and acorns. The early trylon grip is an eye pleasing orange. There are no visible chips or cracks. When I obtained this from my Quebec picker, (who got this from a local family) the wire wrap was loose. I removed the pommel and saw some damage to the grip under the pommel where the wire goes so I put the wire back in there and glued the wire back in place. It's a permanent fix but suggest you leave it alone and not disassemble. I see no cracks or chips. The early brass double-twist wire wrap remains intact. It comes with a worn and frayed 23cm portepee. A fine piece!
