An amazing Tokyo First, Type 95, Variation #1, NCO Samurai Sword produced under the Tokyo First Administration. The paint on this is amazing. You just never see these things in this condition! Aluminum cast grip. The slightly curved, 27 1/2 inch long, single fullered, machine made matte blade on this one looks excellent. There are a couple scuffs you can find by turning the blade just so in the sun. There are no nicks to the cutting edge. A beautiful inspection stamp and serial number "159247". A perfect fit and tip. The blade rates NM. The dent-free scabbard is steel (exterior) and brass (interior) based and has been green/brown painted. It retains 97% paint coverage showing evidence of period wear. The throat retaining screw remains intact and unturned! The throat is also marked matching the blade. The scabbard is secured to the hilt with a steel locking mechanism. The Tsuba is constructed out of a brass based pierced casting. The cast aluminum based "wrap pattern" grip is brown and white painted. 99% of the paint remains intact. The three Fuchi stampings indicate from left to right, Iijima logo, Seki inspection mark and finally a Tokyo First arsenal identification stamp. The sarute is steel. Very hard to upgrade.
