Early NSFK by SMF

A Model 1934 - Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps Fliegermesser by SMF (Solinger Metallwarenfabrik Stoecker & Co.) of Solingen. The bright blade on this one has been lightly cleaned. The acid etched “SMF Solingen” maker mark is nicely executed. It has a sharp tip and solid fit, nice crossgain too! It rates an Exc++. The original blue pebbled leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based blue pebbled leather covered scabbard looks excellent! Typical scuffs and pressure marks and it retains a near perfect seam and 99% coverage. The solid nickel-silver scabbard fittings look and have minor bumps. The ball has a bit of a flat to the bottom and retains its' basic shape. All four screws remain tightly intact. The throat is marked with an inspection mark 96 over a stick bird. The throat also has the NSFK logo, (the mythical Icarus winged man). The scabbard/dagger fit is perfect. The solid nickel-silver hilt fitting look excellent, perfectly matching the scabbard fitting in color, wear and patina! The wood based blue pebbled leather covered grip looks great! It shows some age throughout. The end of the crossguard is also inspection stamped and is "K" caster marked. The black enameled swastikas are practically perfect! Finally, the original hanger is intact with a well working clip. A good piece.
