Army Dagger by Alcoso with Hangers
A beautifully matching Model 1935 Wehrmacht Heer Dolch by Alcoso – Alexander Coppel of Solingen. The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “Alcoso ACS Solingen” maker mark is nicely executed! This has some minor spotting. The blade rates Exc+/Exc++. The original large leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel, dent-free, nickel-silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands. Look at that matching patina! Both original throat retaining screws remain intact. The silver plated 3rd generation Alcoso eagle crossguard provides nice detail throughout the eagle’s head, wings, wreath and chest. The Alcoso pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns that are easily visible through the back burnishing. The deep yellow grip has what looks like a piece broke out and glued into place to the reverse. I say looks like because I can not turn the pommel off and I don't force this stuff. The original portepee partly covers the flaw. The portepee has some frays. This one comes with a set of worn hangers. Nope not perfect but displays nicely.
