Rare - Model 1933 Sturmabteilung Dienstdolch by Peter Lungstrass of Solingen-Ohligs. I have only seen a handful of Peter Lungstrass pieces and this is the only the second one I’ve ever owned. While Lungstrass rates 7 out of 10 for rarity, I believe it to be much rarer. This piece has never been in a collection. The blade on this one looks fair. The acid etched “Alles für Deutschland” motto and “Peter Lungstrass Solingen-Ohligs” encircling a lamp maker mark are crisp and nicely executed. The crossgrain is still visible to some areas. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a sharp point. The blade rates Exc. There is heavy age grey, spotting, scratches and the tip has a bit of a wave to it. The scabbard is sheet metal based and brown anodized. The body has several dents to both sides. The solid nickel-silver scabbard fittings have nicely patinaed matching the crossguards perfectly. The ball has some bruises yet retains a nice round shape. All four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped “Wm” (Westmark). The brown hardwood grip fits the crossguards perfectly. It has some chips, bumps and scratches throughout. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 97%+ of its enamel. The whole exterior has pleasantly patinaed and matches perfectly. A rare maker mark!
