Army Officers Summer Tunic Breast Eagle
A Metall Brustadler für das Heer Sommerjackett. I believe this piece was made by Wilhelm Deumer and Steinhauer & Lück also used this type of construction. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc base that has been silver washed. The obverse features a national eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed swastika within its talons. The hollow back reverse features; a soldered-on tombak oval plate c-shaped catch, soldered-on tombak round plate block hinge, with steel hinge pin, tombak round wire pin and soldered-on tombak round plate and flat wire keeper prong. All of the components remain working well. Zinc pest throughout. It measures 3 3/4 inches wide by 1 7/16 inches tall. A great piece.
